Never underestimate your power to make positive change.
Two months ago before losing our family home in the Pacific Palasades fire, I never would have imagined I would have the honor to be alongside so many leaders from our Palisades and LA community to personally speak with United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Scott Turner @secretaryturner
Moments like these remind me – real change happens when ordinary people have the courage to step up.
When leaders in positions of power are willing to listen.
When communities come together, not just to ask for change, but to be the change.
This conversation gave me a sense of hope.
Hope that there are leaders who care.
(Amongst the many who pretend to.)
Who want to actually make an impact.
(Amongst the many who talk about it).
But with this, also a reminder that we, the community, have to hold them to it.
And accountability isn’t just for politicians. It starts with us – at home, in our neighborhoods, in the way we show up for each other every day.
The real work always begins at the ground level.
Never underestimate your voice.
Your influence.
Your ability to create the change you want to see.
It starts with us.
Brick by brick 🧱
